Just wondering...

...if anyone out there has used the Shutterfly or Photoworks sites to create a Photobook or Calendar? I just created a calendar with Shutterfly and should have it by the end of the week. A friend just gave me the idea of doing a photobook, but I don't know what service she used. I was looking at these two because Picasa references both of them when you go to order prints and things. I really like the idea of having a hard cover printed book with captions and paragraphs talking about each set of pictures...sounds sort of like my blog really...so if anyone has any suggestions or advice I would appreciate it.

  1. I have used shutterfly, iphoto, mpix.com and blurb.com to make books. My favorite is blurb because it is very reasonably priced and the software is easy to use.

I will admit it's been a few years since I've used Shutterfly. They may have gotten better. Since you're already in the mood, you should enter Ree's contest :)

  2. Angie,
I'm not sure if I should thank you or be mad at you! I was thinking about using blurb to one day may a book of my blog, just for me...I think it can do that.

I've been to Ree's page before. I am such a poor photographer compared to her.

However, I did checkout the contest...and that is why I may be mad...It is creating a photobook on faces. Picasa now has a feature where it will pull the faces out of all of my pictures. Out of over 20,000 photos there are over 12,000 faces. How do you sift and sort 12,000 faces????

Seriously, thank you. I am considering it!

  6. Different subject (once again). Do you guys eat pecan pie? (We're coming up on that time of year...) Or are you more the festive pineapple upside down cake types?

  7. I haven't used either of those but I have used kodakgallery.com and it works great. Have made calendars, coffee mugs, mouse pads, and Christmas cards. Pretty easy and cheap.

  8. UNRELATED (but eventually mouthwatering) comment - yet again - will be picking up my pecan pie ingredients tomorrow or Tuesday morning early, and then I'll put up a recipe!

    Happy Sunday!
