Riding in the car to daycare a few days ago, the following conversation ensued:
[B] "Dad, Look at that big crane!"
[D] "That isn't a crane."
[B] "What is it?"
[D] "It is a concrete dispensing arm."
[B] "What is that?"
[D] "Concrete trucks can't fit into buildings and you can't always get it to where you need it from the truck. Somebody found a way to pump it via those crane like arms and tubes into virtually anywhere you need it."
[B] "Cool."
[B] "Dad, I'm like the smartest kid in class, and over half of what I know I learn from you."
The future is going to be a scary scary place. I'm so sorry for all of you and apologize profusely in advance.

You E's sure are knowledgeable. It's a bit intimidating to the rest of the world...I'm sure B will gain the wisdom to accompany that knowledge along the way and we'll have nothing to worry about!
ReplyDeleteOver 1/2 of what he knows?! That means between 51 and 100 percent... hm... yes, that is a bit Whoa Nelly, hold the horses. Can he get out a bit more? :) KIDDING!! What a lucky egg he is. He'll be pondering string theory next year while my kids... (oh, set fires. Nevermind.)
ReplyDeleteAnon,
ReplyDeleteI'm not that knowledgeable...and all I can hope for is that B will have more wisdom than I. :-)
Pascal Rascal,
I do try to get him out more!! We talk about nuclear theory, gravity, time, and strings now...not that he really gets it...but he knows more than I did at his age. Your kids are amazingly brilliant too, and mostly they use their powers for good...
